2D / 3D Motion Graphics

Computer animationUtilizing the power of animation adds tremendous value to presentations, live shows, marketing campaigns, trade events and more. Lightray has extensive experience in video production and creates high-end animation work for various clients and applications including television networks and video board entertainment (for stadiums, theme parks and more). From storyboarding through post-production, Lightray works with you to realize your vision and your business goals. The result is stunning animation in your choice of video formats, ready for use in Television Broadcast, Videoboards, on a DVD, Website, video presentations or other medium.

3D animation can graphically simplify complicated visual concepts that are difficult to visualize. Concepts that cannot be easily illustrated through illustrations or words can be viewed graphically through many different angles. These animations can be added to your video marketing and website video campaigns.

Accident re-creation is a major benefit in computer animation. Scenes that are too dangerous or expensive to re-produce can be easily created using this technology. Through architectual renderings, buildings can be placed in a scene. Likewise, they can be removed as well. Even buildings that have been demolished can be placed digitally back into a scene.

Lightray Media can create 3D animation of products, virtual tradeshow booths, virtual sets, and flying corporate logos into your presentations and video marketing efforts. Take a look at our examples to see how we can produce similar work for your marketing Tampa video productions or marketing campaign presentations.

Computer animation is often referred to as a digital successor to the stop motion techniques used in Traditional animation. 3D models and frame-by-frame animation of 2D illustrations move across the screen. Computer generated animations (or CGI) are more controllable than other more tedious processes, such as constructing miniatures for effects shots or hiring actors for crowd scenes. 3D animation allows the creation of images that would not be feasible using any other technology. Computer graphics allow an animator to produce such content without the use of actors, expensive set pieces, or prop designs.

Creating 3 dimentional characters on a computer

3D CGI combines 3D models of objects (often characters) and a programmed keyframed movement. These models are constructed out of geometrical vertices, faces, and edges in a 3D axis system. Models are sculpted much like clay or plaster, working from general forms and shapes to specific details with various sculpting tools. A bone and joint animation system is set up to deform the computer generated character model (e.g., to make a humanoid model walk). In a process called rigging, the virtual character is given various controls and handles for controlling specific movement. Animation data can be created using a system calles motion capture, or keyframing by a human animator, or a combination of both.

3D models of characters that are rigged for animation may contain thousands of control points. For example, the character "Woody" in Pixar's movie Toy Story, uses 700 individual animation controllers. In the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the witch, and the warbdrobe the characters had about 1851 controllers, 742 in just the face alone. Opposed to this level of detail, of this, video game animators tend to use low resolution, low polygon count renders. This enables the graphics to be rendered in real time on a home computer. Photorealistic animation would be impossible in this situation. The level of quality for movie animation could take hundreds of years to create on a home based computer. Many powerful personal computers are used instead. Graphics workstation computers use up to four processors, and as a result are a lot more powerful than a home computer, These computers are specialized for detailed rendering. A large number of workstations (commonly known as a render farm) are networked together to render frames simultaneously.

Lightray Media has experience at every level of video production and animation. We provide this experience and talent to our clients world wide. We are based in Venice, FL and we create animation and video production for corporate websites or presentations. We utilize the latest in animation, graphics, video editing, lighting, and audio technologies. Our Tampa video productions are key elements in engaging new customers for your business.
